Dreaming of a quad bike

5th December 2011 18:42:41

I don’t think I have ever won anything other than a £25 premium bond or a cheap bottle of port in a raffle and that’s in (god forbid) nearly 50 years.  That’s all very discouraging but it hasn’t stopped me getting really quite motivated by The British Horse Society’s current offering and it’s all in a very worthwhile cause, so thought I would spread the word:

1st Prize is a Honda Fourtrax ES 2WD ATV worth over £5,700.  Now that’s something I would really love for paddock maintenance – and would earn quite a few brownie points with my partner too!

2nd Prize is £1,000 cash

3rd Prize is £500 of Derby House own brand product vouchers

10 x runners up of £20 BHS bookshop vouchers

No one works harder, or with more success, than the British Horse Society to improve standards of horse welfare and safety, increase and protect bridleway access, educate riders and horse owners
The money generated from their 2010 raffle has already helped:

- Continue their riding for disadvantaged children project with The Rainbow Trust

- Launch www.horseaccidents.org.uk which encourages people to log accidents involving horses to gain statistics to help enforce government safety policies

- Fund activity to help raise awareness of indiscriminate breeding (an often visited subject in my blog)

Proceeds from this year will enable the BHS do so much more for horses and riders alike.

There’s only a couple of days to go, so get buying your tickets NOW at http://raffleplayer.com/british-horse-society/?affID=sh or call 01628 821985 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm).
