Elements for Life have picked up their second food award in as many months, winning the Best Local Producer category in the inaugural Bath Good Food Awards. The award comes just weeks after their recent success in the Taste of the West Awards, where their Yummy Scrummy Raw Chocolate Brownie won Gold.
The Bath Good Food Awards ceremony, which was attended by over 200 people, was held on Tuesday 4th October at Baths historic Guildhall.
In a closely fought contest the company won through against strong competition with other local food producers. The first stage was gaining nominations, with the shortlisted companies submitting samples for judging at the ecent Love Food Festival at Dyrham Park, nr Bath. Dan and Paula Knowlson, the team behind Elements for Life, collected their award from Richard Bickerton of Waitrose, one of the Awards principle sponsors.
Elements for Lifes products include a raw chocolate making kit and their award winning Yummy Scrummy Raw Chocolate Brownie, both registered with the Vegan Society. The company specialises in creating healthy raw chocolate products that are free from refined sugar, wheat, dairy and gluten, making them ideal for people with dietary considerations such as vegans, coeliacs and lactose intolerance. Feedback from the Bath Good Food Award judges included a superb range of high quality products that show real innovation.
When asked about their success, Dan said Winning a second award in such a short space of time and all within our first year is something we would never have imagined. We really cant believe it, but its brilliant to get such recognition for something we love doing.
