A group of 18 pupils from Year 7 at Grittleton House School, near Chippenham, entered Theme competition at the 110th Mid-Somerset Festival of Music, Speech and Drama and Creative Writing in spring, and having never entered before, they came away with the winners trophy for their category.
The 'Theme' chosen by Mrs Levan, Head of Drama, allowed the pupils to let their imaginations go and to explore how they might portray their own feelings of happiness, sadness, love, jealousy and friendship to others using poetry and stories. Headmaster Nathan Dawes said: This was an outstanding achievement for our pupils who should be congratulated on their wonderful success. We are all very proud of them and their triumph.
