Wiltshire Magazine looks at one of the first of its kind - only the second Palladian style building to be erected in the country with a central lake that is now the setting for a series of jewel-like garden constructions

6th Baronet (also Henry Hoare), bequeathed the Estate to the National Trust just before the Second World War since when public access to magnificent Stourhead has been perpetuated, much to the delight of the thousands of visitors who throng there every year. Undoubtedly the highlight of the year at Stourhead is the biennial Fete Champetre during July when, over a two day period, visitors don fancy dress and enjoy the grounds. The event will be taking place this July.
